Welcome
To The Tao Of Movement!
The Tao (pronounced Dow) of Movement is based on the Mitchell Method
of Pilates. It is an actual technique to grow your spirit and create
physical well-being and healing. This method, inspired by the teachings
of J. H. Pilates, also includes tenets of yoga, ballet, T'ia-chi
and the gentle art of energy cultivation. The Tao is an eastern
or
Chinese philosophy that translates to mean, The Way. The Tao of Movement
is the way of movement. It is the truth that supports all methods
of movement. It can be used to improve any person’s understanding
and use of their body. This ranges the gamut from professional athletes
to people with special needs.
The Tao of Movement integrates the use of proper breath technique,
spinal awareness and the balance and cultivation of energy. Susan
Mitchell is committed to the belief that humans are energy beings.
To truly understand movement, the mind, the body and the spirit must
integrate. All three entities move as one. This is called alignment.
Alignment creates nurtures and sustains our wholeness. Without the
alignment of the mind, body and the spirit the foundation of good
health is compromised. The Tao of Movement combines the use of time-tested
exercises with a proper understanding of the bio-mechanics of the
energy body. The results are a focused mind, a balanced body and
an improved state of being. Professional athletes have termed this
state as, "The Zone" or "Playing Real Time".
Susan calls this level of understanding and performance, The Tao
of Movement. You will be
amazed to learn the ease with which you can achieve this state of
being. You will also be astounded by the results that you see and
feel. Your body and your life will change in exciting and new ways!
